ARSEN SUPERFLY (DJ SET) —
Friday 25th April at Juju’s Bar & Stage
Arsen Superfly is a Kazakhstani DJ and a collector of various rare vinyl records, сo-founder of the Almaty music bar called Bul Bar. Long ago, he determined his path to creating a cultural layer for the uninitiated local audience. His passion for music has lasted since childhood (from the late 1980s), and all these years he has remained dedicated to this art performing and organizing numerous musical ideas, intimate and large-scale parties, residencies, and festivals, as well as supporting the younger generation of musicians and DJs.
In the 2000s and 2010s, he developed a strong desire to collect music in the context of Soviet grooves, Central Asian music from that era, and Kazakh music from all generations. He found great inspiration in this journey, collecting music piece by piece. As the organizer of Groove Me and a resident DJ at festivals such as Jazzystan, The Spirit of Tengri, and KolFest, Arsen brings a special magic to his performances by continuously blending various genres and styles to create vibrant musical combinations.
His musical interests span House, Broken Beat, Brazilian and Latin music, UKG, world ethnic music, soul, and disco funk from around the globe. Arsen continues to explore diverse musical cultures and strives to integrate their elements into his DJ sets, crafting unique musical journeys that transport his audience to different corners of the world. He calls his style Worldwide Grooves.
