Sunday 27th April at Juju’s Bar & Stage

Djeuhdjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson are an enchanting French singing duo taking you a journey through jazz, Afrobeat, soul, funk, electro, and reggae. They have just released 2+, a third album continuing their funky journey that began with T’es qui ? in 2015. This album follows their critically acclaimed Aimez ces airs (2019) and serves as a diptych with its exploration of themes from that release.

Featuring 15 eclectic tracks, 2+ blends electro, soul, Afrobeat, and bossa nova. The duo addresses various topics, including environmental issues (Coeur béton), social commentary (Police, Raie publiques, Clic), and love (Thé à la menthe, Ping Pong). They also pay tribute to their South African connections through a suave cover of Maxime Leforestier's Né quelque part.

Recorded in Lieutenant Nicholson’s home studio, the album features live horns, drums, and a vocal choir, all produced with their signature electro-analog sound. Notable contributions include Antoine Berjeaut on trumpet and Florian Pellissier on keys.

With 2+, DjeuhDjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson push the boundaries of French chanson, aiming to ignite dance floors worldwide while showcasing their unique French touch.
