Jamie Leeming, one of London’s most sought-after young jazz guitarists, has carved a unique musical path, working with Alfa Mist, Tom Misch, and Jas Kayser. His debut EP Heartsong was named one of Jazz London Radio’s “Best Jazz Releases of 2015,” and his collaborative album Flow (with Maria Chiara Argirò) earned The Guardian’s “Jazz Album of the Month.” Now, Leeming unveils his debut solo album, Resynthesis, via Alfa Mist’s Sekito imprint.

Inspired by the reconstructive nature of memory, Resynthesis explores how memories shape identity. The album, featuring contributions from top collaborators, blends ethereal jazz textures with a classic guitar trio format, offering a balance of tone, feeling, and instrumental prowess. Highlights include the dreamy first single Shinkansen, inspired by a Tokyo bullet train journey and featuring saxophonist Nathaniel Facey, and Long Term Memory, with Laura Groves’ vocals reflecting on the ties of home and place. Still Connected ventures into atmospheric territory with its intricate, percussion-free soundscape.

Tied together by Kaya Thomas-Dyke’s artwork and personal memories, Resynthesis is a bold exploration of sonic and emotional landscapes, cementing Leeming’s evolution as a guitarist, composer, and producer. Jamie Leeming’s upcoming solo album is set for release via Sekito Records in 2025.
