JAY PHELPS
JAY PHELPS
Saturday 26th April at 93 Feet East (Live Room)
London-based artist Jay Phelps has performed with some of the world’s top artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Shabaka Hutchings, Amy Winehouse and Wizkid.
With an instantly recognisable warm and projecting trumpet tone, Phelps is a household name on the international Jazz scene with worldwide streams exceeding 700k and his DJ sets are becoming legendary!
"What Jay brings to the stage is an energy and a level of originality that is hard to find. Whether it’s a live show or one of his hybrid DJ sets, I know Jay will always deliver tenfold and leave the room in a better place than he found it. And that is priceless.”
~ Juliet Kennedy, Founder & Director, Brick Lane Jazz Festival
In 2023, Phelps released The Now his seventh album as a leader with Apple Music subsidiary label Platoon. 2023-24 Phelps performs his album 'The Now' to a sold-out audience at Ronnie Scott's and other venues across the UK. In 2024, Jay Phelps presents: Miles Davis' Kind of Blue sold out The Jazz Café for the 5th time as Phelps stepped back into the shoes of the great trumpeter to perform his seminal album. August 2024 was the release of his most recent single Sunset in June, where he combines the warm textures of Jazz and African grooves to create a unique sound.
With his sights on a new release in 2025, Jay continues to perform and tour his main projects The Now and Kind of Blue to packed venues and festivals.
"A brilliantly paced set with some nice surprises, thank you for nurturing the joyful vibe in the room." ~ Paul Pace, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club
