Osmani Soundz

Osmani Soundz is a pioneering British Asian electronic music producer and DJ whose career, which began in 1988 under the name Osmani Knights, has profoundly influenced the UK Asian Underground scene. His journey started in the vibrant basements, community halls, and youth clubs of the Eastend of London, where he was immersed in the culture of sound systems. Collaborating with DJs, dancers, MCs, and graffiti artists, he honed his skills and developed a unique sound. A significant milestone in his career was his residency at Talvin Singh's renowned Anokha Club Sessions at the Blue Note in Hoxton during the mid-'90s, where he showcased his innovative approach to music. Osmani's eclectic style seamlessly fuses Western and Eastern influences, paving the way for various genres such as Eastern drum and bass, ambient, experimental,breakbeats and dubstep . His early work included the influential track "Spiritual Masterkey," released in 1994, which became one of the first Asian drum and bass anthems. This track later appeared on Talvin Singh's compilation, "Anokha Soundz Of The Asian Underground," released by Island Records UK in 1997. Over the years, Osmani has amassed an impressive catalog of releases on and off Nasha Records under alias’s Gunmaster G9 / Nasha Experience. Currently, Osmani Soundz is focused on a few projects on , Hundred Colours Music, which he co-founded with Nuphlo and Shandy. This label aims to release innovative and futuristic Eastern Electronic bass music. His latest collaborations and releases are on Nasha Records and continues to reflect his forward-thinking approach to music.

Rohan Rakhit b2b Surya Sen

Over the last few years, Rohan Rakhit has established himself as one of London's most exciting emerging voices. A resident DJ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, and one of the main minds behind the South Asian Underground crew DAYTIMERS, as a curator, Rohan has worked with some of London’s most esteemed venues, including programming for the Royal Albert Hall, Somerset House. the inaugural DAYTIMERS Festival, as well as countless club night and festival offerings across the country. Known for his multi-genre approach to his DJ sets, Rohan draws on the eclecticism of the soulful and percussive sound that encapsulates his London. His work as a DJ spans performances across renowned London venues like the Jazz Café, Tate Modern, Corsica Studios, and Colour Factory, as well as festival stages including We Out Here, Brainchild, Lost Village, and Glastonbury. North London-based British-Bengali producer and rapper Surya Sen is a standout talent in the UK music scene. Known for his unique sonic style, his debut mixtape received critical acclaim from NME and Clash, earning a nomination for 'Best Mixtape/EP' at the AIM Awards 2022. Nadī

Nadī, (meaning river in Sanskrit) has a free flowing sound. Her productions focus on combining percussive polyrhythms with enchanting vocals to tell stories. Her DJ sets are also about creating a musical narrative, where she likes to combine underground sounds from dub, UKG, bassline, dancehall and even Eastern inspired breaks, with one thing in common: ‘a bouncy bassline’.

Having become an essential part of the underground South Asian electronic music scene in the UK, Nadī was one of the minds behind DAYTIMERS and has featured alongside them in publications such as Crack, DJ Mag and Vogue India. Last year Nadī played sets in Europe, India and Japan.

Her next dream is to play in her motherland, Bangladesh.

The Cockney Sikh b2b Kieran Dotwav

Punk fans may remember Suresh Singh AKA The Cockney Sikh as the drummer from the band Spizzenergi, who toured with Siouxsie and the Banshees and the Cure in 1979. In his charming playlist Singh shares his love for music and his Sikh immigrant parents and his childhood in Brick Lane , East London, Singh proves himself to be a candid writer and a canny curator of material that crosses family biography with postwar cultural history. His youth is filled first with National Front racism, then punk music and rebellion. He reflects the changing faces of his family and the evolution of one corner of the capital. Combined with Singh’s words and selection of music he loves, it is a timely reminder of all that modern Britishness encompasses.

The Cockney Sikh Vs East London-born DJ and co-founder of music platform DOTWAVNOTWAVE, Kieran Dotwav is a selecta specialising in Hip-Hop, Rap & Bass heavy sounds. They have been collaborating since 2021.
